I hope GSC adopt this style for their future STALKER's because it worked perfectly. Now you rarely see a loading screen because many locations can fit into one single map. If he had a task a fair few miles away, he might of had to go through the Cordon > Garbage loading, then the Garbage > Agroprom loading screen etc, and it just made it annoying and time-consuming. Example, in the first game, the player could run through Cordon in about 2 minutes.

This gives the opportunity for quests to become much more in-depth.

Instead of many, linear levels, there are simply 3 (2 are bigger than the Swamps in Clear Sky) maps, laid out in a triangle. In Call of Pripyat, GSC have opted for a different layout. The first two games were mostly a linear progression, going from south to north, with a few wests and easts along the way. There are many characters you'll meet, some will be there till the end.you'll make friends, you'll betray friends and you might even need to kill them, because sometimes it's the only way to survive. Slight details and information can become the total opposite depending on how things go during the game, and it's a nice little thing that gives it the feeling this is your own personal ending. I'm glad to say that the games finishes off well in terms of the plot, and questions back from 2007 get answered.Īs like Clear Sky, there is only one actual ending, however it's more like BioShock. There was some complaints with the first two, that the story and plot, especially near the end of the games was eitherġ) Too confusing to be bothered about it. This opinion is most likely going to change when the English version comes out and I find out there's a lot more to it than I was originally presented with, but there is a slight 'why should I care about this?' feeling to it, which can often happen in movies and TV, and looses the player's demand to know more and continue and to care for the characters. I have to say, although I struggled to understand the story at times, it is weaker than the first two. Played on 'Master difficulty', version 1.600 with dodgey Google translations. So, a mere year and a bit later and GSC present us with the third installment to the unique S.T.A.L.K.E.R. But may contain spoilers for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. "Review" from a user at the STEAM forums:
